Dean Blahut started his career in Automation more than 25 years ago after graduating from the Industrial Instrumentation program at SAIT. Dean's early career was largely spent pioneering PLC and SCADA systems in Western Canada’s oil and gas sector. He went on to open and manage a remote field office in Fort St John before returning to Calgary and starting Exile Automation in 2008. Under Dean’s leadership, Exile has carved its space as a leading force in the automation industry.

By 2021, Dean and his team had expanded Exile's offerings to include all aspects of a turnkey automation system, including system design and drafting, integration, control panel manufacturing, installation, and life-cycle maintenance.

Throughout his career, Dean's experience, network, and reputation have provided the foundation and practical experience necessary to build an industry-leading team of professionals who consistently exceed client expectations.

Daryl Blahut

Manufacturing Manager

Daryl's career began as an assembler with a control panel manufacturing company in the 1990s, working primarily in Alberta's oil and gas industry. He quickly assumed further responsibilities, transitioning to lead-hand and foreman. For the next 4 years, he gained experience as the manager of a panel shop specializing in high-voltage control panels.

In 2010, Daryl started the control panel division for Exile Automation, becoming a critical pillar of the company’s early success. Now, as the Manufacturing Manager, he oversees projects with an emphasis on accuracy, quality, and safety.

His reputation for safety, efficiency, and well-assured quality is well-earned and generates tremendous value on each project. His contributions range from precise estimates to natural leadership of the control panel team. His sales experience offers a set of soft skills and an eye for budgets.  Today, Exile Automation enjoys his expertise in preventing hazards while ensuring quality, cooperation, and efficient coordination.
